Knights templar cross circa 1250This brass cross was buried with a knight from the time of the Crusades. Found in a Crusaders Hospice at Tyre, Lebanon. Hospices were centers where soldiers who were severely wounded or terminally ill were transported to for care and medical attention. They actually originated in the Crusades because of the intensity of warfare.
